China Enters The Korean War Some 200,000 CCF troops, mostly veterans of their great victories over Nationalist China, totally competent in fighting of maneuver, ambush, and encirclement, infiltrated North Korea and took up their chosen areas of battle undetected. Our Eighth Army in the West, and X Corps with our great 1st Marine Division in the East at Chosin, would soon be fighting for existence.
